LAEI HAWAII TEMPLE, DIAMOND HEAD HIKE, MANOA FALL HIKE, AND HANAUMA BAY SNORKELING - EPIC DAY in Hawaii!  We (Bryce, Heidi, Makayla, and Logan) went to the temple early this morning and Maddison was awesome to watch the two youngest (Braden and Ella). The kids did Baptisms and Heidi and I did Initiatories.  We walked the temple grounds and went to the Visitors Center.  This temple has special meaning because my Great, Great Uncle Avard Fairbanks did the sculpting (the frieze) on the temple.  It was great to spend some time on the temple grounds.  Great way to spend the morning with our two oldest.

The 1st hike we did today was Diamond Head.  The kids did great.  Even Ella hiked the whole hike.  She did amazing for a little 4 year old.  It was a two mile hike up the mountain.  The view was amazing and the history of it is incredible.

Pictures during the hike up the mountain.

What a view from on top!

On the way down.  The kids thought that these stairs were pretty cool.  There are 99 steps on this staircase.  I'm not sure why they didn't just do 100.  The kids thought it was neat.  :)

We had to get some good shaved ice after the hot hike.

Enjoying a hawaiin treat.

This hike was really cool.  A little muddy and wet, but great!  This was a great one to do in the middle of the jungle.  Again, the kids were great sports and had a lot of fun!

Start of the trail.

Kids on a huge log.  They wanted a picture on it.  The next picture gives you a little perspective on how big it was.  I can't believe all the different plants (variation of ecology) here in Hawaii.  It's amazing!

I love Heidi!  She is so great!  She is the one that planned our trip here in Hawaii!  She has done a great job so far!  She is so fun to hang around with and works so hard for our whole family to have a great time and get along.  She always amazes me on how she can tackle our 5 kids and me.

Manoa Falls!!!!  We made it!

Braden wanted to get in and take a shower, sooooo as his Father, I had to do my Fatherly Duty and get in with him.  We took a genuine Hawaiin Waterfall Shower!  Cold, but totally worth it!

On the way back.

Hanauma Bay!  This is supposed to be one of the best snorkeling spots on the island.  The snorkeling was great!  There were several different fish that we saw.  Some big, some small, but it was great for the kids.  Nice sandy beaches, great shallow snorkeling, and perfect temperature.

Heidi showing us all how it's done.

Ella loves playing in the sand.  She's so content to just build sand castle after sand castle.  It's been a real treat to get to know each one of our kids on a different level in Tonga and now here in Hawaii.  You think you know them, but an experience like this really brings a lot of different things to the surface.  I love each one of them SO much!  They really are great kids and we're having a blast together!  A big reason (as you all know) is Heidi!  That's why she is so awesome!

Two views from up on top of Hanauma Bay.
